In order to sustain our full complement of early childhood enrichment programs, BKS must raise, on average, more than $500,000 in private funds each year!

While much of the underlying budget for BKS comes from New York City Adminstration for Children's Services (ACS) unfortunately these public funds are insufficient to cover the full cost associated with the delivery of even basic day care, much less the quality early childhood education program the BKS board members and staff have painstakingly put in place in recent years. Thanks to the stewardship of the BKS staff and Board, and the efforts of 80 community volunteers, BKS' total fundraising expenses amount to less than 12% of all private funds raised -- far surpassing the fiscal accountability standard of 35% set by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance.
